I learned with sorrow about the passing of Nikolai Ryzhkov, National Hero of Armenia and an outstanding statesman and political figure.

Nikolai Ivanovich’s contribution to the recovery of Armenia after the devastating 1988 earthquake is undeniable.

The Armenian people will always remember with warmth and gratitude the work Nikolai Ryzhkov carried out, as well as his love and respect for our nation.
